The Securities Market Review Panel of the Monetary Authority of Singapore announced on February 21 that, to boost the stock market, Singapore launches a S$5 billion securities market development plan (EQDP). Meanwhile, the Singapore Exchange will accelerate and simplify the listing process for companies to attract more new listings.

Furthermore, the Singapore government will adjust the Global Investor Programme (GIP) under the Economic Development Board. Going forward, applicants seeking to set up a single family office in Singapore under this programme must invest at least S$50 million of the S$200 million assets under management (AUM) in shares of Singapore-listed companies. Previously, single family offices under this programme could invest in listed stocks, real estate investment trusts, business trusts, funds issued in Singapore, etc., but henceforth they will be limited to locally listed stocks only.
